(Jackdaw Quarry) \nRequirements: \nYou will need to have completed a Medical form and handed it to our Branch Diving Officer. If you have not filed a medical it will result in your instructor not allowing you to dive on the day. \nYou will need Current BSAC membership. \nYou will also need to join the Capernwray dive centre. There is now a fee of £30 fee for a 2-year membership\, you will need to register online and choose the 2-year diving option\, beyond this Capernwray will charge £15.00 each time you visit\, this fee pays for parking\, and the use of facilities (W.C\, showers\, cafe facilities\, and use of the actual quarry). you can bring a packed lunch and drinks. Air fills are also available for £5.00 per fill. \nYou will need your regular SCUBA gear and if you do not own a DRY SUIT\, you will either need to purchase or borrow one or you can hire them from either Capernwray Dive Centre or Bolton Area Divers. SUMMARY:Practical Rescue Management SDC course
DESCRIPTION:We are putting on a “Practical Rescue Management” SDC course.\nThis is a great way to safely expose a group of divers to realistic diving incidents. Although the emphasis is on the development of rescue-management skills\, this course also provides an opportunity for further instruction and practice in personal rescue skills. \nThere is a strong emphasis on teamwork\, you will get to manage a small team in a hypothetical rescue scenario in a controlled open-water training environment. \nVenues: We will be holding the theory part of the course on Saturday 28th January at the Botanical Club in Atherton with the practical part on Sunday 29th at Holyhead marina. (Please note that the practical day is weather dependant) \nThis SDC is open to all members who have achieved Sports Diver Grade (or equivalent qualification from another training agency) \nBy completing this course you will also get  Dive Leader theory sessions DT9\, DT10\, and DT11 and practical session DO5 signed off \nDepending on the number of participants on the course we may need some help from Dive Leaders and/or Ocean divers to act as casualties on the Sunday. \nIf you wish to attend this course please email Chris Heywood   OR if you are willing to help on the Sunday please email Chris Heywood with the word HELPER  in your message. \nRequirements: Current Medical filed\, Current BSAC membership\, Current Branch Membership. \nCost: Branch boat fee £10.00 per person per day (excludes instructors / helpers) and a share of fuel.

The island lies at the mouth of the Bristol Channel where the cool\, clear\, oceanic waters from the Gulf Stream mix with the clear\, but warmer\, waters from the Mediterranean. \nThe spacious boats have room for 12 divers to kit up at once\, with ample space to store all the diving gear. There is a side gate on the boat for easy entry and a lift or ladder\, making re-boarding hassle-free. We have a safety boat/stand by vessel in case of an emergency. \nTwo boats each with 12 divers \nSo\, we either have 12 divers or we can have 24 divers. \nThe boat is charged per day not per diver. The cost per boat per day is £990 divided by 12 divers = £82.50 per day. Which will get you two dives in what is listed at the no 1 dive site in the UK.  Scenery and wrecks. \nDeposit = £20.00 per person ASAP << EMAIL FROM SKIPPER says pay deposit asap to confirm booking.\nBalance: to be collected 1st September 2022 \nWeather: Everything is refunded upon cancellation due to weather. \nQualifications:\nOcean diver with a minimum of 10 sea dives (Dive logs will be checked) (Branch DO has requested this and the skipper has requested experienced Ocean divers minimum) \nMedicals: Full up to date medical form.\nBSAC & Branch membership: Fully up to date. \nCylinders:\nYour tanks can be filled on the island or at Ilfracombe BSAC. DESCRIPTION:Probably my favorite wreck…..upto now on Anglesey. Stunning wreck\, upright and intact.Plastered in life….props etc. 37m TO SEABED\, BUT stands upright quite high.So definitely Sport Diver level.Preferable confident and diving regularly Sport Divers with Alternative supply if avail.Must be confident with rib diving and exposed sites. 6 divers max OR 6 and a dedicated cox.(dedicated cox allows divers to get in water together\, without waiting for a team to return before committing another pair-we have a narrow slack water window.) “dedicated cox” goes free. \nLaunching ; Options\, BULL BAY\, ABC POWER MARINE\, or even my site.I have dived these wrecks from all launch sites \ncosts.  ALL costs\, fuel\, launch etc shared by divers. \njust shout for any additional info. \ngeneral info. You will see i have put 2 trips on\, Kincorth and Cartagena. The neap tides are good for these wrecks.You are welcome to book both days if you like.We have previously done this and left the rib in storage overnight at ABC Powermarine.I will consider this option as time and availability dictates \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:I try and do this dive every year.A stunning wreck of an old trawler.Hit a mine during the war..Broken up\, very pretty\, covered in life.A fantastic dive.I usually try a couple of ways to do this dive as it is very exposed\, and subject to a narrow slack water window….hence low water neaps. so\, 6 divers\, OR 6 divers and “dedicated” cox.(A dedicated cox allows the divers to get straight in the water\, and not wait for a buddy team to return before the next go in.(my trips\, a dedicated cox goes free).Due to the factors with this dive\, i would like Sport divers that are diving frequently and comfortable on ribs and exposed sites.Alternative supply is also preferable. \nLAUNCH- we have various options….what seems to work well is ABC Power Marine at Beaumaris-all by tractor and good facilities.However\, also been from Bull Bay and also from my site to this wreck. \nADDITIONAL INFO   Give me a bell for any other info Also\, please state if you would like to be dedicated cox. DESCRIPTION:Farnes trip diving Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August 2022 with Sovereign Divers from Seahouses\, Northumberland. \nScenic and Seal dives\, \nDiver qualification: ideal for Ocean divers and above. \nCost per diver is £50 per day for 2 dives each day. (£100 in total) You will need to sort your own accommodation which would be for the Friday and Saturday night.\nThere are plenty of B&Bs in Seahouses and campsites near by. DESCRIPTION:We are holding an Ocean Diver open water training session. \nLocation: Capernwray Dive Centre. (Jackdaw Quarry) \nRequirements: \nYou will need to have completed a Medical form and handed it to our Branch Diving Officer. If you have not filed a medical it will result in your instructor not allowing you to dive on the day. \nYou will need Current BSAC membership. \nYou will also need to join Capernwray dive centre. There is  fee is now £30 fee for a 2-year membership\, you will need to register online and choose the 2-year diving option\, beyond this Capernwray will charge £15.00 each time you visit\, this fee pays for parking\, and the use of facilities (W.C\, showers\, cafe facilities\, and use of the actual quarry). you can bring a packed lunch and drinks. Air fills are also available for £5.00 per fill. \nYou will need your regular SCUBA gear and if you do not own a DRY SUIT\, you will either need to purchase or borrow one or you can hire them from either Capernwray Dive Centre or Bolton Area Divers.
