If you have not filed a medical it will result in your instructor not allowing you to dive on the day. \nYou will need Current BSAC membership. \nYou will also need to join the Capernwray dive centre. There is now a fee of £30 fee for a 2-year membership\, you will need to register online and choose the 2-year diving option\, beyond this Capernwray will charge £15.00 each time you visit\, this fee pays for parking\, and the use of facilities (W.C\, showers\, cafe facilities\, and use of the actual quarry). you can bring a packed lunch and drinks. Air fills are also available for £5.00 per fill. \nYou will need your regular SCUBA gear and if you do not own a DRY SUIT\, you will either need to purchase or borrow one or you can hire them from either Capernwray Dive Centre or Bolton Area Divers. DESCRIPTION:Chris Llewellyn will be diving out of Eyemouth & St Abbs on  24th & 25th June 2023 with skipper Derek Anderson of  www.aquamarine-charters.com \nDerek Anderson has been working on boats since he was 26. Starting his working life onboard trawlers\, he is the owner/skipper of Aquamarine Charters. Eyemouth Harbour\, TD14 5SD. \n2 dives on the afternoon of Saturday the 24th & 2 on the morning of Sunday 25th June. \nThis weekend is open to Ocean divers and above and will cost £60/person/day. \nA non-refundable deposit of £60 as soon as possible will secure your place\, but if\, for any reason\, after paying your deposit\, you cannot eventually go\, then it is your responsibility to find a suitably qualified replacement who can take your place otherwise you will be liable for the total cost of diving off the boat. However\, the balance of payment will need to be paid no later than 24th May 2023. \nYou must take 2 cylinders with you and sort your Travel & accommodation arrangements. \nRefills will cost £6 per fill and will be collected from the boat\, filled\, and dropped back off\, so for this reason you must make sure your cylinders are marked with your name. \nAmple free parking is available nearby in Eyemouth and a fully serviced pontoon means getting you and your kit to and from the boat is easy. \nDouble dive lift\, big kitting-up benches\, toilet\, wheelhouse seating\, tea and coffee\, and if you are lucky home baked cake or scones. \nThe boat has all the standard safety equipment including an O2 kit. \nThis is a good opportunity to gain some more sea experience. \nIf you are interested\, please book on via the branch website event & let Chris know via WhatsApp.

DESCRIPTION:Hi All\,…the 7th April( good friday) sees the return of the Easter egg hunt.This is a fantastic event\,loads of games\, for one and all\,friends \,family\, divers and non divers…We have hot food and all sorts to eat\, all within the Sub C gazebo.Great chance to kick start your diving season\, the water just about starting to warm up then…(honest…😇). Costs are £6 adult and £3 children Genuinely a great day. \nStella is main organiser….but she will need lots of help.Some amazing prizes last year\,and a brilliant marking system.Book on\,and also ask Stella how you can help in the run up.

(food will be published is due course.) \n\nRooms are available from 2pm on the Saturday\, will include Breakfast and use of all leisure facilities within the Hotel. cost per room is £70.00 for s single and £80.00 for a double. You must reserve a room direct with Hotel. DESCRIPTION:Menai Suspension Bridge Anglesey North Wales Uk\nOn 18th March\,We are looking to Circumnavigate the whole Island of Anglesey.There are hopefully a few ribs taking part.At the minute the spaces are on the club rib\, also Wilts rib.We will split people into equal numbers so that is all shared equally.Costs are per person for fuel plus any launch  and recovery costs.You will need\,Drysuit/ wetsuit\,buoyancy aid\,hat gloves\,food\, drink …It is a stunning area.We will stop off for some toilet and picnic breaks in some beautiful  areas.Dave has planned the route.Some is tricky\, but will be great experience.You don’t need to be a boat handler.Open to one and all.As ever\, subject to weather…

SUMMARY:Practical Rescue Management SDC course
DESCRIPTION:We are putting on a “Practical Rescue Management” SDC course.\nThis is a great way to safely expose a group of divers to realistic diving incidents. Although the emphasis is on the development of rescue-management skills\, this course also provides an opportunity for further instruction and practice in personal rescue skills. \nThere is a strong emphasis on teamwork\, you will get to manage a small team in a hypothetical rescue scenario in a controlled open-water training environment. \nVenues: We will be holding the theory part of the course on Saturday 28th January at the Botanical Club in Atherton with the practical part on Sunday 29th at Holyhead marina. (Please note that the practical day is weather dependant) \nThis SDC is open to all members who have achieved Sports Diver Grade (or equivalent qualification from another training agency) \nBy completing this course you will also get  Dive Leader theory sessions DT9\, DT10\, and DT11 and practical session DO5 signed off \nDepending on the number of participants on the course we may need some help from Dive Leaders and/or Ocean divers to act as casualties on the Sunday. \nIf you wish to attend this course please email Chris Heywood   OR if you are willing to help on the Sunday please email Chris Heywood with the word HELPER  in your message. \nRequirements: Current Medical filed\, Current BSAC membership\, Current Branch Membership. \nCost: Branch boat fee £10.00 per person per day (excludes instructors / helpers) and a share of fuel.

DESCRIPTION:Underwater hockey\, is a globally played limited-contact sport in which two teams compete to manoeuvre a puck across the bottom of a swimming pool into the opposing team’s goal by propelling it with a hockey stick. \nYou will need: Diving mask; snorkel; pool fins. (Bring 1 red shirt and 1 blue shirt) so when teams are selected you can choose your kit colour. \nYou may want: Optional – protective gloves.. 🙂 \nWe provide: pusher\, underwater puck & referee. \nAge – All members welcome. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ocean Diver / Discovery Diver Open water training day
DESCRIPTION:We are holding an Ocean Diver open water training session. \nLocation: Capernwray Dive Centre. (Jackdaw Quarry) \nRequirements: \nYou will need to have completed a Medical form and handed it to our Branch Diving Officer. If you have not filed a medical it will result in your instructor not allowing you to dive on the day. \nYou will need Current BSAC membership. \nYou will also need to join the Capernwray dive centre. There is now a fee of £30 fee for a 2-year membership\, you will need to register online and choose the 2-year diving option\, beyond this Capernwray will charge £15.00 each time you visit\, this fee pays for parking\, and the use of facilities (W.C\, showers\, cafe facilities\, and use of the actual quarry). you can bring a packed lunch and drinks. Air fills are also available for £5.00 per fill. \nYou will need your regular SCUBA gear and if you do not own a DRY SUIT\, you will either need to purchase or borrow one or you can hire them from either Capernwray Dive Centre or Bolton Area Divers. DESCRIPTION:The Annual Night dive and Fireworks event is on 2nd November 2022.\nThere will be no branch meeting out Pool time on this day. \nthe best way to experience this event is dive in the afternoon (in daylight) and repeat the same dive around 5- 6pm when it’s dark. \nYou will need to bring your Torch and a backup Torch. make sure they are fully charged.\nThose using club kit will need to make prior arrangements and make sure you have the hire forms filed. \nDive training can be accommodated but please reach out to Mike Rickard – as he will need to be aware of your intentions and he can appoint the correct Dive management. \nThis event is also a good spot for those wanting Sport diver / Dive Leader dive management qualifications. \nIf you need to join Capernwray membership the cost ion £30.00 for 2 years.\nEntrance fee for the day if £15.00 \nNon Divers / Spectators are free. \n

DESCRIPTION:on Sunday 23rd October we are planning a day dash to Anglesey- \nLee & Ian are planning to launch the RHIB and planning to dive a couple of wrecks no deeper than 20m (MOD) Dive site will depend on the Weather on the day. If the weather is too harsh we will either do a shore dive or cancel with plenty of notice. \nWe have space for 3 Ocean Diver Students looking for the first Sea Dive / Small boat dive. \n\nBoat Cost: £10.00 per person.\nFuel: Approx £10.00+ per person.Bring Money on the day.. DESCRIPTION:  \nDive Trip Lundy Island 8th & 9th October 2022 \n \n  \nObsession boat charters www.lundydiving.co.uk \nTrip approved by M.R Branch DO. \nThe main dive area is at Lundy island which\, in 1986\, was made a statutory marine nature reserve. The island lies at the mouth of the Bristol Channel where the cool\, clear\, oceanic waters from the Gulf Stream mix with the clear\, but warmer\, waters from the Mediterranean. \nThe spacious boats have room for 12 divers to kit up at once\, with ample space to store all the diving gear. There is a side gate on the boat for easy entry and a lift or ladder\, making re-boarding hassle-free. We have a safety boat/stand by vessel in case of an emergency. \nTwo boats each with 12 divers \nSo\, we either have 12 divers or we can have 24 divers. \nThe boat is charged per day not per diver. The cost per boat per day is £990 divided by 12 divers = £82.50 per day. Which will get you two dives in what is listed at the no 1 dive site in the UK.  Scenery and wrecks. \nDeposit = £20.00 per person ASAP << EMAIL FROM SKIPPER says pay deposit asap to confirm booking.\nBalance: to be collected 1st September 2022 \nWeather: Everything is refunded upon cancellation due to weather. \nQualifications:\nOcean diver with a minimum of 10 sea dives (Dive logs will be checked) (Branch DO has requested this and the skipper has requested experienced Ocean divers minimum) \nMedicals: Full up to date medical form.\nBSAC & Branch membership: Fully up to date. \nCylinders:\nYour tanks can be filled on the island or at Ilfracombe BSAC. Please note that you will need to bring two cylinders with you.   £6.00 per fill \nThere are over 40 dive sites around the island with a mix of wrecks\, reefs\, drop off\, and pinnacles. You can also dive with the seals which are extremely friendly. \nAccommodation: Book your own accommodation.\nLogistics: We can arrange travelling closer to the time. \n
